Staging Your Closet
Closets can be a tough place to stage. The closet is a little like the adult version of sweeping the mess under the rug; we put all of our clothes in it because it keeps things out of sight and out of mind. However, if you are looking to sell your home, it’s a good idea to give your closets some attention because they are something a potential buyer will examine.
dOrganization of a closet can add great appeal because it maximizes the space. Write down your closet’s dimensions and head to a local hardware store to find some wire shelving organization systems.
The use of decorative boxes have been a fashionable way to organize closet space. These can be purchased at Ikea, Walmart, Target, or you can get creative and make your own.
To make your closet feel bigger, you’ll want to clear out about half of its contents. Begin by storing out of season clothing in other storage areas. If you have a month to prepare, hang all of your clothes hangers in the closet backwards. Each time you wear an article of clothing, replace it in your closet with the hanger facing the correct way. At the end of the month, go through the clothes you didn’t wear and donate them to a thrift store.
