Coming soon to downtown: Urgie’s Cheesteaks Neighborhood Bar.
Harrisonburg is about to get a taste of authentic Philadelphia-style cuisine and culture with the Urgie’s Cheesesteaks, which has started construction right next to Urban Exchange on E. Water st. Urgie’s owner and chef tells us about the vision; “Ultimately, we are going to create a very unique pedestrian-friendly neighborhood bar combining the aesthetic of an 1800’s carriage house, as well as an urban “Philadelphian” corner bar”.
Once completed, Urgie’s patrons will enjoy a Philadelphia-themed “sports focused” establishment, specializing in authentic Philadelphia style cheesesteaks, authentic buffalo wings, and other pub fare. There will be indoor seating as well as a grand outdoor space with walk-up windows for food orders and beer garden-style bar area. Urgie’s is also setting up take-out and delivery options from this location.
Tentative opening to the public will be early-mid December.
